We still have a month or so left of summer so lets make it the best summer for your skin before winter comes knocking on the door. It’s challenging to find vegan, cruelty-free, non toxic summer skin care products so I want to offer you some natural tips and guidelines for skin care protection and skin care treatments from two of our most trusted sources.

1.  EWG– Environmental Working Group is one of our MUST sources for non-toxic skin care. EWG is a nonprofit organization that empowers people to live healthier lives in a healthier environment by educating us with breakthrough research in the areas of agricultural, toxic chemicals, drinking water pollutants, and corporate accountability.  They also provide YASOU with EWG’s Skin Deep cosmetics database, which is an online guide with safety ratings for more than 78,000 cosmetics and personal care products

EWG’s Tip:  Sunscreen Should Be Your Last Resort

Below are some of their other summer tips for protecting your skin.

A) Wear Clothes. Shirts, hats, shorts and pants shield your skin from the sun’s UV ray’s, reducing burn risk by 27%.

B) Plan Around the Sun. Go outdoors in early morning or late afternoon when the sun is lower in the sk

C) Find Shade – or Make it. Picnic under a tree or take a canopy to the beach. Keep infants in the shade, reducing the risk of multiple burns by 30%.

D) Sunglasses Are Essential. Sunglasses protect your eyes from UV radiation

You scan also find their Sunscreen 101 list that consists of the Best beach & sport sunscreens, best scoring kid’s sunscreens, and the best moisturizers with SPF.

YASOU hydrating body creams have been EWG verified as non-toxic and cruelty free but it does not contain SPF. Our body creams is meant to be used after your day outdoors and can help soothe, nourish and hydrate skin for the entire family.

2. Leaping Bunny Certified is the global gold standard for cruelty-free certification for personal care, cosmetics and household products. These are products that do not conduct animal testing or use ingredients that have been tested on animals up to third party suppliers.Overall it means companies with the bunny logo have compassion for animals and do not test on animals or use ingredients that are tested on animals.

Being a cruelty-free brand doesn’t automatically mean the brand or product is vegan so please make sure to check this out before making your purchase if this is important to you.

Leaping Bunny approved brands are listed on their site. It’s a cruelty-free marketplace where you can research and purchase directly from their shopping guide.  They also provide Leaping Bunny ENEWS where they introduce new brands and give you their summer essential picks.

YASOU “a toast to your health” | skin care is leaping bunny certified and offers a vegan lip elixir, vegan hand cream, vegan day cream (for the face) and vegan night cream (for the face).  All YASOU creams are vegan except for the hydrating body creams because they contain honey extract and beeswax, otherwise they are completely plant based/powered.

We hope you find the above sources useful and beneficial.  We believe that you receive more vitamins and minerals from vegan skin care than non-vegan.  We also believe you receive more quality ingredients, a safer and overall healthier experience!
